Cash App partnered with MSCHF, the Brooklyn-based art collective known for breaking the internet, to reach a younger audience. Together we recreated the cozy pixel aesthetic and minimalist gameplay of early web clicker games. Players created their own avatar, entered the orchard at the same time each day, and shook trees to uncover golden apples — and dozens of other hidden items along the way. Simple directive: shake the trees, find golden apples, get paid.
If you got paid in the game, you got paid in real life. Via Cash App, of course.

For the launch, we seeded the game with a handful of paid partners.

Half a million harvesters. Inactive users came back. Most of them stayed and kept using Cash App. We made a game so fun people forgot they were being marketed to.
